Olive Harvest - Chiaramonte Gulfi

October 28, 2018
In October, we wrap up our events dedicated to the seasonality and agro-cultural traditions of the Sicilian territory. For this occasion, the star will be the olive harvest in Chiaramonte Gulfi, a village now renowned for the unmistakable quality of its oil. We will be accompanied by one of the most significant companies in the area, as well as on a national and international level: Frantoi Cutrera, a family-run business that has been producing extra virgin olive oil for years. We will have the opportunity to witness and actively participate in the olive harvest. From the olive groves, we will move to the mill, where we can followev140-1.jpg all the production stages.
The company owns three mills and about 50 hectares of olive groves; it oversees the entire production chain, ensuring control over every step, from the olive tree to the bottle of oil. After a short walk through the groves, we will have the chance to enjoy a snack under the olive trees, just as it was done in the old days during the harvest. From the groves, we will head to the mill to follow every stage of production, right up to the bottling in a modern facility, and we will hear all the secrets behind the production of one of the oils that has conquered palates in countries all over the world.
