Scheduled excursions
Our multi-day excursions are planned by selecting the best logistical and weather conditions. Each event includes a brief description with the exact date, participation fee, maximum number of participants, required equipment, difficulty level, and any other useful information. Dates are fixed and do not change, barring exceptional circumstances that may arise during the year.
How to book
Each excursion lists the organizer and contact details (mobile phone and e-mail) to reach them directly, along with the booking deadline. We recommend booking as early as possible, given the limited number of spots—especially for groups and parties of friends. Our guides reserve the right to advise against participation for those who are not adequately equipped.
Day trips can be booked directly with the guide via phone or e-mail. Trips lasting two or more days are booked through the tour operator for the entire travel package.
Difficulty levels
- Easy — suitable for everyone, including children. Day trips do not exceed 4 hours of walking; includes city and tourist routes.
- Moderate — the classic choice, for adults and children with a minimum habit of walking outdoors. Elevation gains up to ~500 m, usually 5-6 hours on varied terrain and marked trails.
- Moderate/Challenging — a middle ground, suitable for those who walk with some regularity. The effort is greater than the Moderate level due to elevation gain or duration, but without the technical difficulties or high-mountain equipment required for the Challenging level.
- Challenging — requires good physical fitness. Difficulties are related to elevation gain (especially uphill), length, or duration; sometimes high-mountain equipment is necessary.
We always recommend checking with the organizer, comparing the difficulty level with your own hiking habits: the more you walk throughout the year, the more skill and familiarity you acquire.
Information before the excursion
Once registered, at least 10 days before departure, you will receive (usually via e-mail) a detailed program with dates, locations, and times, along with precise directions to reach the meeting point by car.
Reliability and commitment
Every excursion involves bookings for mountain huts, hotels, restaurants, and specific appointments: we ask that you only book when you are certain you can participate. If a deposit is required, it will not be refunded in case of cancellation within the last 30 days. Trips organized with tour operators follow the sales conditions and cancellation policies of the current year.
We ask for punctuality at meeting points and respect for the schedule. By participating in an excursion, you become part of a group: it is not possible to follow a different program than the one established by the excursion leader, except in case of necessity.
On-demand excursions
In addition to our calendar, we offer excursions (usually day trips) that can be requested by individuals and groups at any time of the year, in the territories of the Iblei, the Parco dei Nebrodi, and the Etna. The cost varies based on the number of participants, with no minimum required. Simply contact the guide by phone to agree on times and details. Discover on-demand excursions.
Returning from the excursion
Upon your return, a new feeling will accompany you. Embrace it: you have discovered emotions previously unknown. We look forward to seeing you on the next CiaoTrekking excursion, in search of "another mountain" to explore.
