Between Resin and Nectar: Trekking in Pineta Mangiagesso and discovering the Apis Mellifera

A walk through the beautiful Pineta Mangiagesso in Modica, along trails leading to stunning viewpoints with vistas stretching from Scicli to Donnalucata, all the way to Marina di Ragusa.

During the hike, we will have the chance to meet the star of the day, the Apis mellifera, and learn about its products through an educational beehive, set up in complete safety. Thanks to our guide, a passionate beekeeper, we will discover the stages of honey production and the fundamental importance of bees for environmental balance.

Along the way, we will also enjoy a wholesome snack featuring honey.

The excursion will end around 1:00 PM within the Pineta Mangiagesso. Those who wish can take advantage of the picnic area for a packed lunch, or head back to their cars.

Participation fee: adults € 15.00. children up to 10 years old free

The fee includes guide service, accident insurance, excursion organization, and snack. For insurance purposes, please send your full name and tax code (codice fiscale).

Expenses not included:
Travel to and from the meeting point.

Logistical details:

• Meeting point: September 28, 09:30 AM, Cava Mangiagesso park entrance, Modica. We will send the exact location to registered participants a few days before.
• End of excursion: 1:00 PM, same as the starting point
• Route: approximately 3 hours, forest track, mule track, and marked trail
• Travel: Use of own car.
• Difficulty: Easy.

Required equipment:

• Hiking clothing
• Snacks, fresh and/or dried fruit
• Backpack and hiking boots
• Windbreaker
• 1.5 liters of water
