Autumn in the Madonie - Trekking through Foliage and Breathtaking Views

From October 31st to November 2nd, 2025
A three-day experience in the heart of Sicily, immersed in the pristine beauty of the Madonie Park. This mountain range, the highest on the island after Etna, offers breathtaking panoramas: the Tyrrhenian Sea on one side and the Sicilian hinterland on the other. The landscape alternates between oak woods and beech forests to open meadows, a habitat for diverse wildlife including fallow deer, wild boars, foxes, and hares. Our base will be Rifugio Marini, the perfect starting point for a different hike each day, surrounded by nature, silence, and endless horizons.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Sunset Hike
Arrival at Rifugio Marini and check-in. In the afternoon, a short hike in the surroundings, through woods and clearings, waiting for the sun to set. We will finish our return journey by night, guided by our torches, to experience the magic of the mountains under the stars.

Day 2 – Pizzo Carbonara (1979 m)
Departure from Piano Battaglia to reach the highest peak of the Madonie and the second highest in Sicily after Etna. The trail, with an elevation gain of about 420 m, crosses lush beech forests and environments rich in biodiversity. Once at the summit, the view sweeps across the Tyrrhenian Sea, Isnello, and Castelbuono to the north, and the Vallone Madonna degli Angeli to the south: a panorama that rewards every effort.

Day 3 – Monte San Salvatore (1909 m)
We will embark on one of the most scenic routes in the Madonie. The path, winding through beech forests and high-altitude terrain, leads to the summit of Monte San Salvatore, one of the most imposing peaks of the massif. A spectacular hike to conclude our journey through nature, colors, and unique silence.

Fee: € 220,00 includes - Guide service, insurance and excursion organization, overnight stay at Rifugio Marini, dinner on Friday and Saturday, breakfast and packed lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Costs do not include: Travel expenses to and from the meeting point

Daily walking hours: 2/3 hours on the first day, 6/7 hours on Saturday and Sunday

Required equipment: trekking clothing, hiking boots, long trousers, hat, trekking poles (we can provide them upon request), torch (preferably a headlamp), k-way, waterproof jacket, water bottle, and personal toiletries.
