Hiking in Cavagrande del Cassibile

The Cavagrande del Cassibile Nature Reserve is a true treasure of eastern Sicilia, where nature meets history and culture. During this guided hike, we will walk along the canyon trails, admire rock formations and lush vegetation, and perhaps take a dip in the natural pools. We will explore the local flora and fauna, as well as the archaeological sites that hold such significance for the history of the peoples who once inhabited our land. The Iblei plateau, sculpted by wind and rain, is filled with basins and lakes that are a true paradise for biodiversity. In short, this excursion is the perfect blend of natural beauty and Sicilian history, ideal for making your stay even more special!

Travel to and from the meeting point.

Logistical details:

• Meeting point: Sunday, April 13 at 9:00 AM at the Esso Noto gas station in Contrada Pianette, 96017 Noto SR. Google Maps Link
• End of hike: Sunday, April 13 at 4:00 PM (same location).
• Loop trail: Approximately 6 hours of walking (including potential swimming breaks).
• Travel: Use of private cars.
• Lunch: Packed lunch.
• Difficulty: Moderate.

Required equipment:

• Layered hiking clothing
• Snacks, fresh and/or dried fruit
• Backpack and hiking boots
• Windbreaker
• 1.5 liters of water
