Coastal to Ragusa Trail - STAGE 2 – Scicli → Modica

Our journey takes us through the most evocative corners of the Iblei, blending history, natural landscapes, and ancient traditions. Each stage leads us from one historic town to the next, starting from the sea and gently climbing through valleys, woodlands, and old mule tracks until we reach the city of Ragusa. It is a route that combines trekking, culture, and spectacular views, perfect for those who love to discover the authentic side of Sicilia, one step at a time.
Leaving Scicli, a royal city for nearly a century, we will walk along the ancient mill path, crossing the Torrente Fiumelato before climbing towards Cozzo Cavadduzzo, where we will enjoy a final view of the city and the sea on the horizon. We will stop for lunch at the Mangiagesso picnic area. We will then continue to Modica, winding through narrow alleys, monuments, and imposing churches, concluding with a visit to the Castello dei Conti, the ancient seat of power of the County of Modica.

Expenses not included:
Travel to and from the meeting point.

• Meeting point: November 30, 09:00 AM, in front of the Scicli Town Hall

• Route: approx. 5 hours, road, forest track, mule track, and marked trail

• Layered trekking clothing

• Backpack and hiking boots
• Windbreaker jacket
• 1.5 liters of water
