Conca del Salto

For Liberation Day, we are delighted to venture into the depths of the Conca del Salto della Lepre, a unique spot in the Modica area. It features a waterfall of about 30m, surrounded by lush vegetation and travertine rock formations that create a truly evocative landscape. Our route will wind through the adjacent Cava Maria, passing along the valley floor to the Conca del Salto, before reaching the trail that leads to Cava Mangiagesso. Expect an intense trek with plenty of ups and downs, offering fabulous scenic views! To celebrate this special day, we want to focus on conviviality by organizing a shared lunch. Everyone is invited to bring something to eat with and for the group, rediscovering the joy of being together and the spirit of sharing—a nostalgic nod to the traditions of the past.

End of excursion: 05:00 PM at the entrance of Pineta Mangiagesso, Modica. Car shuttle service will be provided by the organizers.
Lunch: Shared packed lunch.
Route with fords: Approximately 6 hours of walking.
Travel: Own vehicle.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Required equipment: Hiking gear, backpack, long trousers, hiking boots, hat, waterproof jacket, and at least 1.5 liters of water.
