The trekking route we are offering is a hiking journey divided into 7 stages that winds through some of the most evocative areas of south-eastern Sicilia. This journey will not be consecutive but will take place through Sunday appointments during the winter season, from November to March.
The stages are designed to help you discover the beauty of the territory in a sustainable and accessible way, connecting historic cities, hilltop villages, and breathtaking natural landscapes, culminating on the splendid island of Ortigia, the ancient heart of Siracusa.

Logistics

• The stages will take place on Sundays, allowing participants to enjoy their weekly break while adapting to the rhythm of a more relaxed, non-consecutive trek.
• Daily distances are planned to be covered in about 5-7 hours of walking, allowing participants to finish the hikes in the afternoon.
• You can choose to participate in one or more stages.
• We will handle the organization of vehicle recovery at the end of the hike; the rental of one or more vehicles for the return to the starting point will be arranged based on the number of participants.

2nd Stage: December 15th - From Chiaramonte Gulfi to Monterosso Almo
Stage Description:
We set off from Chiaramonte Gulfi, crossing trails, regie trazzere (ancient royal paths) and forest roads that will lead us to Monterosso Almo. This stage offers the opportunity to explore the evocative Iblei territory, with enchanting landscapes and points of interest such as Cava Fico, the characteristic “U Dammusazzu” and Casa Bardaro. Along the way, we will also discover the Case Canalazzo, symbols of the area's rural tradition. Every step brings us closer to Monterosso, where an authentic experience awaits us. The day will end in the historic center, accessible via ancient stone stairs once used by farmers returning from the fields. A journey that combines history, nature, and tradition in a unique atmosphere!

Participation fee: € 20.00 – Includes guide service, accident insurance, and hike organization. To activate the insurance, please send your full name and tax code (codice fiscale).

Costs not included: Packed lunch, travel to and from the meeting point, shared cost for renting one or more minibuses for the return to the starting point.

Meeting point: Sunday, December 15th at 09:00 AM, Piazza Duomo, Chiaramonte Gulfi.

Route: Approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, including breaks.

Elevation gain: 480m ascent, 450m descent.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Required equipment: Trekking clothing and shoes, long trousers, hat, trekking poles, rain jacket (k-way), 2L water bottle.

Booking: By December 13th or until the group is full.

Notes: The hike may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural conditions. In such cases, the guide will decide on any route modifications. An email with updated information will be sent a few days before the hike.
