Autumn Adventure in Pantalica - Explore Nature and History

A trekking journey through archaeology, history, and nature in the heart of the Pantalica Nature Reserve. On this trip, we will immerse ourselves in the ancient necropolises of Pantalica, one of the most important nature reserves in Sicilia and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005. The site is home to approximately 5,000 tombs spread across five different necropolises, dating back to the period between the 13th and 7th centuries B.C., making it one of the most significant sites in the world. The honeycomb-like necropolises are carved into the rocky cliffs overlooking the Calcinara and Anapo valleys.

During the trek, we will visit:

- The Necropolis

- The Sella del Filiporto (West side)

- The ruins of the Anaktoron (Prince's Palace)

- Several rock-cut churches from the Byzantine period

A fascinating experience for those who wish to explore a place steeped in history, archaeology, and nature.

Participation fee: € 70.00 – Includes guide service, accident insurance, and excursion organization. To activate the insurance, please send your full name and tax code (codice fiscale).

Other expenses: € 140.00 – Includes accommodation in an agriturismo (double/triple rooms), dinners on Friday and Saturday, breakfasts, and packed lunches for Saturday and Sunday.

Costs not included: Travel to and from the meeting point and the packed lunch for Friday.

Deposit: € 50.00 to be paid upon registration.

Balance: € 160.00 to be paid on-site.

Single-day participation: € 25.00 – Includes guide service, accident insurance, and excursion organization.

Meeting point: Friday, November 1st at 09:00 AM, Info Point Parking at the Necropoli di Pantalica, Strada Regionale 11 Ferla/Pantalica/Sortino.

Difficulty: Moderate.

Required equipment: Trekking clothes and shoes, long trousers, hat, trekking poles, flashlight, shower sandals, rain poncho (k-way), sweater, waterproof jacket, water bottle, and personal hygiene kit.
