Ragusa - Comiso

Today's journey can be summed up in three words: History, Nature, and Vistas.
Starting just outside Ragusa, we will make our way to Comiso, following old mule tracks, historic "Regie trazzere" (ancient royal paths), and winding trails. The history of these lands—from the “Cavaliere di Castiglione” to the catacombs of Cava Porcaro and the ancient Roman road—will transport us back in time. The breathtaking valley that opens up just below Cava dei Modicani will accompany us along today's route. With spring in full bloom, the vibrant colors, scents, and flavors will provide the perfect backdrop for a wonderful hike. After passing by a few historic city landmarks, we will arrive in the heart of Comiso.

Highlights: A front-row seat to the entire valley, stretching all the way to the plains of Gela.

The fee does not include: travel to and from the meeting point.

Route type: A mix of marked and unmarked trails, forest tracks, and old paths.
Travel: using your own vehicle.
Difficulty: Moderate
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, hat, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water.
