Wandering the Iblei: The comeback.
After the first step, there is always the last: the Monterosso – Giarratana comeback. This is the final stage of a grand loop that, for us hikers, represents a journey through the most beautiful hills in southern Italy. In the soul of a regular hiker, "knowing" leads to both internal and external growth: these places help us in this constant evolution. On this journey, we will encounter history, culture, traditions, nature, crafts, and wisdom... but above all, we will "live" the trail. Living the journey & sharing the passion. We started our first steps in Giarratana, the small Iblean town where we will return today. The town center of Monterosso Almo will be our meeting point, from where we will head southeast, quickly entering the green hills. By this time, the countryside will have dressed up for the arrival of the wonderful spring. The green of the meadows, the red, pink, and yellow of the flowers, and the blue of the sky will offer us magical moments. Before returning to the town of Giarratana, we will pass by the Miele stream and the ancient walls of the Castello di Jarratana. Finally, we will take a walk through the old historic center.

Expenses do not include: travel to and from the meeting point.

Itinerary: marked and unmarked trails, forest tracks, and old mule tracks (trazzere).
Travel: use of private cars.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Highlights: The story of a journey immersed in the traditions and wonderful nature of the Iblei.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, hat, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water.
