Epiphany on Etna - Snowshoeing in the Snow

Our walk will begin at the Cratere Silvestri Inferiore, following the trail named after the crater itself. For the first part of the route, we will walk over the 2001 lava flow; along this stretch, we will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views. If visibility is clear, we will be able to see from the southeastern Sicilian coast all the way to the northern Calabrian coast. The landscape before us will shift from the black of the lava flows to the green of the pine trees. Our landmarks along the way will be Monte Nero, Monte Gemmellaro, the Monte Grosso crater, and shortly after, we will reach our destination, Monte Concilio. The final stretch of the route is particularly fascinating from a geological perspective.
In case of snow, we will go snowshoeing between Piano Vetore, Monte Nero degli Zappini, and Monte Denza. 

Fee: € 25,00 - Includes guide services, accident insurance, and excursion organization. For insurance purposes, please kindly send us your full name and tax code (codice fiscale). In case of snowshoeing, the fee including snowshoe and pole rental is € 30,00.
The fee does not include: travel to and from the meeting point and packed lunch.

Lunch: Packed lunch.
Route type: Trail, forest track, and lava flows.
Elevation gain: Approximately 150 meters ascent and 700 meters descent.
Travel: By own car.
Difficulty: Challenging.
Required equipment: Winter trekking clothing, small backpack, trekking boots, trekking poles, flashlight, wool hat, sweater, gloves, waterproof winter jacket, and 1.5 liters of water.
