Today's journey can be summed up in three words: History, Nature, and Panoramas.
Cavagrande, as the name suggests, is the widest and longest canyon in the area. Beyond being one of the most populated and industrious valleys, it holds an immense historical heritage within its walls. The evocative Villa dei Marchesi di Cugno Mola, located at the far end of the canyon, is a magical place of natural beauty. Some historians refer to this pyramidal hill facing the Necropoli del Cassibile as Cugno Mola, which some believe to be the Akraion Lepas mentioned by Thucydides in his account of the Peloponnesian War. Breathtaking landscapes, colors ranging from the green of the meadows to the blue of the sea—a walk that fills you with beauty. A loop trail for a splendid Sunday in early January.
