Autumn Colors on Etna

Autumn is the season when nature’s thousand shades explode; the woods transform into a kaleidoscope of colors, with leaves ranging from vibrant yellow to deep red. In autumn, Etna dresses in soft, muted tones, with the yellow and orange leaves of birch, downy oak, beech, and chestnut trees creating a spectacular display born from the incredible diversity of flora found here. We have several options for where to walk during these two days; one will be in the birch woods on the North side, visiting the Grotta del 1971, Serra delle Concazze, and the Monti Sartorius. On Sunday, we will explore the South-East side, Monte Zoccolaro, and the Valle del Bove.

Fee: € 50,00 – Includes guide services, accident insurance, and organization. For insurance purposes, please kindly send us your full name and tax code (codice fiscale).
Other expenses: € 60,00 - Includes: overnight stay in a rural house with double and triple room accommodations, Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday packed lunch.
Not included: round-trip travel expenses to reach the excursion site and Saturday packed lunch.

End of excursion: Sunday around 05:00 PM in Zafferana Etnea.
Travel: own car.
Loop trails: 5/6 hours of walking – Forest tracks, mule tracks, marked and unmarked paths.
Difficulty: moderate/challenging.
Lunch: packed.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, rain jacket (k-way), hiking boots, sweater, waterproof jacket, flashlight, hat, 1.5 liters of water, and personal toiletries. We recommend using a reusable water bottle and cloth or biodegradable bags to help us avoid plastic pollution.
