Canyoning in the Paradise of the Iblei - SR

Connecting with nature becomes even more profound as we walk through crystal-clear green waters, surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies that embody the extraordinary beauty of this place. The Putrisino and Manghisi streams are the perfect spots to savor nature in all its diversity and listen to the magical, slow-flowing sound of one of the most beautiful corners of the Iblei. Our route winds through this very landscape, featuring pools of water that naturally mirror the sky, creating brilliant colors. Should weather conditions not be ideal for canyoning, we will instead follow a loop trail in the same area, running alongside Cava Putrisino, which leads us to the rock-hewn Basilica di San Marco. Near the church, we will also visit a cave dwelling and Byzantine catacombs.

Expenses not included: travel to and from the meeting point.
Meeting point: Sunday at 09:00 AM along the S.S. 287 Palazzolo Acreide/Siracusa at the Esso gas station, coming from Palazzolo, just before the entrance to the La Trota restaurant. Click here for the Google location link.

End of excursion: Sunday at 05:00 PM, same as the meeting point.
Route: approx. 6 hours of walking (including swimming breaks), 150m elevation gain. The trail includes rugged areas with brambles and the stream bed.

Required equipment: trekking clothing, waterproof backpack, hiking boots, hat, closed-toe water shoes; for those sensitive to cold water, a wetsuit is recommended, swimsuit, 1.5 liters of water.
