Cavagrande del Cassibile, one of the most beautiful canyons in the Iblei mountains. Today’s hike takes us up both banks of the Cassibile river, winding through holm oak forests and Mediterranean flora. Cavagrande is a fascinating place even in winter—a pristine canyon of natural beauty, history, and traditions that have remained unchanged for centuries. Since ancient times, this river has borne witness to the passage of man and the resilience of nature. We will fully immerse ourselves in this quintessential Iblean canyon, letting our body and soul be completely carried away….

Fee: € 15.00 – Includes guide services, organization, and accident insurance.
Meeting Point: Sunday, January 09 at 09:00 AM along the S.S. 287 Palazzolo Acreide/Siracusa road, at the Esso gas station (coming from Palazzolo, before the entrance to the La Trota restaurant). Click the link below for the Google Maps location.

Lunch: Packed lunch
Travel: Own car
Difficulty: Moderate.
Loop trail: 6 hours of walking including breaks – royal cattle tracks (regie trazzere), mule tracks, marked paths, and river crossings.
Required gear: Hiking clothing, small backpack, rain poncho (k-way), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, sweater, 1.5 liters of water.
