Monte Zoccolaro and Valle del Bove - Etna

From the south-eastern slope of Etna, near Contrada Cassone, we will start our walk from the parking area. We'll follow the Sentiero Natura for the first part, crossing a magnificent undergrowth filled with scents and colors, as we head towards Monte Zoccolaro (1730 m altitude). From there, a breathtaking panorama will open up before us: the Valle del Bove and, higher up, the Summit Craters. Shortly after, we will set off again along the Schiena dell’Asino, a ridge that offers us various vantage points to admire the immense Valle del Bove. We will then begin our return journey to the cars, taking a downhill path through woods of beech, chestnut, and broom, as well as apple and pear orchards.

Lunch: packed lunch.
Route: track, marked and unmarked trails. Walking time: 5 hours including breaks - Elevation gain/loss: 350 m.
Difficulty: moderate.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, hat, sunscreen, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 2 liters of water.
