Monte Intraleo - Rifugio della Galvarina - Etna

This is a special, profound, and passionate trek on the volcano. On this excursion, we will walk along the western side, a slope less explored and known by regular trekkers on Etna. This hike is perfect for those who enjoy alternating between woodland paths and ancient lava flows. Our destination today is the Rifugio della Galvarina, where we will stop for a packed lunch. The setting, the history, and the typical landscapes of the volcano will provide the backdrop for this lovely Sunday.

Meeting point: Sunday, June 05 at 09:00 AM at the Piano Fiera parking lot, (Strada di Bonifica Salto del Cavallo-Monte Albano). Click the link below for the Google location.

End of excursion: 05:30 PM. Same as the starting point.
Costs do not include: round-trip travel expenses to reach the meeting point.
Lunch: packed lunch
Loop trail: dirt road, marked and unmarked paths.
Walking time: 7 hours including stops.
Difficulty: challenging.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, hat, sunscreen, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water (2 liters if you drink a lot).
