Autumn on Etna - Monte Rinatu and the Cave Trail.

Autumn on Etna is the season when nature’s thousand shades explode; the woods turn into a myriad of different colors, with leaves ranging from yellow to red. Etna dresses in soft, muted tones, with the yellow and orange leaves of trees like birch, downy oak, beech, and chestnut, offering a spectacular view. We will be on the northeastern side of Etna, from Monte Rinatu to Monte Cerasa along the Cave trail, where we can admire the magnificent Valle del Bove for several stretches. We will conclude the excursion by visiting the Grotta dei Ladroni, an ancient lava flow tunnel.

Expenses do not include: travel to and from the meeting point and packed lunch.

Loop route: walking time: approximately 6 hours including breaks. Trail includes both marked and unmarked paths, and forest roads.
Elevation gain: 500 meters ascent and 500 meters descent.
Travel: own car.
Difficulty: medium.
Required equipment: trekking clothing suitable for the autumn season, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, hat, sweater, flashlight, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water.
