Water Trek at Torrente San Marco - SR

A walk through a crystal-clear, emerald stream surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies—this captures the extraordinary beauty of this place. It is an enchanting spot where the pristine water of the stream allows nature to shine in all its glory, amidst the diverse plant and animal species found in one of the most beautiful corners of the Iblei. We will spend about two hours walking in the water, with short stretches of swimming, finishing on a high note as we encounter two waterfalls cascading into small pools. The return journey will take us under the shade of holm oaks, willows, downy oaks, and other plants, all part of “our” Mediterranean scrub.

Expenses do not include: travel to and from the meeting point.
Meeting point: Monday at 09:00 AM along the S.S. 287 Palazzolo Acreide/Siracusa at the Esso gas station, coming from Palazzolo before the entrance to the La Trota restaurant. Click the link below for the Google location.

End of excursion: Monday at 05:00 PM, at the same meeting point.
Route: approx. 6 hours of walking (including swimming breaks), 250m elevation gain. The trail includes rugged areas with brambles and the stream bed.

Required equipment: trekking clothing, waterproof backpack, hiking boots, hat, closed-toe water shoes, a wetsuit is recommended for those sensitive to cold water, swimsuit, 1.5 liters of water.
