Full Moon at Capra D'Oro - RG

Walking at night allows us to savor different scents, lights, and sounds; it is truly relaxing and rejuvenating. Full moon nights have always cast a special spell on places, people, and the landscape as a whole. Following old royal mule tracks and paths, we will reach the hills opposite, where we will catch sight of the nocturnal panorama of Ragusa with its illuminated streets—a unique spectacle only visible at night under the full moon. We will begin by fording the Fiume Irminio, from there we will climb along a dirt road, and before reaching the foot of Pizzo di Capra d’Oro, we will take an off-trail route through the small woods of Costa dell’Angelo until we reach the plateau, where we will enjoy the view of Ragusa lit by the moon. This will be the time for our packed dinner break. Our return will be via the forest track and then along the royal mule track to complete the loop. Capra D’Oro is a site known for various legends and stories, such as that of the aeronaut Henri Blondeau dating back to 1890 and cited in the book “L’ultimo volo di Blondeau” (Prof. G. Cultrera).

Fee: € 10,00 - Includes guide services, RCT insurance, and excursion organization.
The fee does not include: packed dinner and fuel costs to reach the meeting point.
Meeting point: Friday, June 25, appointment at 7:30 PM before the level crossing, near the Ponte di Ferro on the Fiume Irminio.

Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, sweater, flashlight, 1.5 liters of water.
