Snowshoeing on the Volcano - Etna

Wander through the snow on snowshoes to experience the magic of the volcano in winter, crossing through birch, beech, and pine forests, and traversing the slopes of ancient craters. This weekend includes two excursions: on Saturday, we explore the southern side, Monte Nero degli Zappini, and on Sunday, the north-eastern side in the area of the Monti Sartorius, Rifugio Baracca, and Piano Provenzana. With our snowshoes, we will head off-trail, feeling the thrill of getting lost amidst the birch, beech, and pine woods. Thanks to snowshoes, we can reach the most beautiful spots on Etna without any particular technical difficulty.
Each excursion will last approximately 6 hours, including a lunch break, which we may spend inside an unstaffed mountain hut, warming up by the fireplace.

Fee: € 40.00, includes guide service, RCT insuranceT, and snowshoe and pole rental for both days.
Other expenses: € 50.00 - Includes: overnight stay in a rural house, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast.
Expenses do not include: packed lunches for Saturday and Sunday and fuel costs for travel.

Required equipment: trekking clothing, raincoat, gaiters, small backpack, hiking boots, flashlight, wool hat, sweater, windbreaker, gloves, 1.5 liters of water, (for drivers, snow chains).
N.B. We respect, follow, and accept the rules for the good of all. Upon registration, we will send you an email with two attachments regarding Covid-19 information and a Word file (1 page) that you must fill out and sign, to be handed in as a hard copy before the start of the excursion.
Notes: the excursion may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural events; in such cases, an alternative route will be taken if possible.
Option to participate in individual days only, € 25.00 including snowshoe and pole rental.
