Snowshoeing on Etna - A Walk on the Snow

A high-altitude snowshoe hike in a magnificent setting to recharge both mind and body. Our route will take us along the southern slope, between Rifugio Santa Barbara, Monte Denza, and Monte Nero degli Zappini, following a scenic loop trail starting and ending at Piano Vetore. We will wander through ancient craters, lava flows, and forests, venturing off-trail to soak in the beauty and emotions of this wonderful snowshoeing experience. A spectacular location and the perfect atmosphere to regain energy and enjoy the great outdoors.

Fee: € 25.00 – Includes guide services, snowshoe and pole rental, RCT insurance, and excursion organization. In the absence of snow, we will proceed with a hiking excursion; in this case, without the use of snowshoes, the cost will be € 20.00.
The fee does not include: round-trip travel expenses to reach the meeting point.
Travel: own car (drivers are advised to bring snow chains).

Loop trail: approximately 4/5 hours of walking.
Difficulty: challenging.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, rain jacket (k-way), gaiters, small backpack, hiking boots, wool hat, sweater, windbreaker, gloves, 1.5 liters of water, (snow chains for drivers).
N.B. We respect, care for, and follow the rules for everyone's well-being. Upon registration, we will send you an email with two attachments regarding Covid-19 information and a Word file (1 page) that you must fill out and sign, to be handed in as a hard copy before the start of the excursion.
The excursion may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural events; in such cases, an alternative route will be taken if possible.
