Snowshoeing on Etna - A Walk on the Snow

High-altitude snowshoeing in a magnificent setting to recharge your mind and body. Our route will take us along the southern slope, between Rifugio Santa Barbara, Monte Denza, and Monte Nero degli Zappini, following a characteristic loop trail starting and ending at Piano Vetore. We will traverse ancient craters, lava flows, and forests, venturing off-trail to soak in the beauty and emotions of this wonderful snowshoeing experience. A spectacular location and the perfect atmosphere to regain energy and enjoy the great outdoors.

Fee: € 25.00 – Includes guide services, snowshoe and pole rental, RCT insurance, and excursion organization. In the absence of snow, we will proceed with a hike; in this case, without the use of snowshoes, the cost will be € 20.00.
Not included: round-trip travel expenses to the meeting point.
Travel: own car, (drivers must carry snow chains).

Lunch: packed lunch
Loop trail: approximately 4/5 hours of walking.
Difficulty: challenging.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, raincoat, gaiters, small backpack, hiking boots, wool hat, sweater, windbreaker, gloves, 1.5 liters of water, (for drivers, snow chains).
N.B. We respect, follow, and accept the rules for the benefit of everyone. Upon registration, we will send you an email with two attachments regarding Covid-19 information and a Word file (1 page) that you must fill out and sign, to be handed in as a hard copy before the start of the excursion.
The excursion may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural events; in such cases, an alternative route will be taken if possible.
