Cave Iblee (RG)

We will meet at 09:00 AM in the parking lot in front of the Ragusa Ibla train station. From there, we will proceed in our own cars to Contrada Monte, the starting point of our hike. Today's loop trail winds through Cava Misericordia, Torrente Mastratto, Cava Paradiso, and Contrada Lauretta before returning to our starting point. The route is significant for its naturalistic, geological, and historical aspects; we will walk along mule tracks and "regie trazzere" (ancient royal paths) that our grandparents used until the last century to reach their fields. We will ford the Misericordia and Mastratto streams several times, and we will enjoy our picnic lunch in the enchanting setting of Cava Paradiso.
