Miniera Trabia-Tallarita and Monte Formaggio (CL)

October 31st and November 1st, 2020.
A weekend to rediscover the Nisseno area, rich in mining archaeology and trails that are as fascinating from a naturalistic perspective as they are from a historical and traditional one. We will recover the memories of our Sicilian land, accompanied by the stories of the local people. On Saturday late afternoon, we will visit Mazzarino. In the evening, dinner at an agriturismo and overnight stay.
On Sunday, we will hike to Monte Formaggio, a 639-meter peak that stands out among the surrounding hills for its distinctive pointed shape—a feature that makes it recognizable even from the Iblei territory in southern Sicily.

Fee: € 35,00, includes guide service, RCT insurance, and excursion organization.
Other expenses: € 55,00 - Includes: overnight stay at an Agriturismo, Saturday dinner, breakfast, Sunday packed lunch, and entrance to the Mining Museum.
Expenses do not include: fuel for the round trip, Saturday packed lunch, and any unspecified extra expenses.

For guests coming from the province of Ragusa, we will coordinate car travel by phone 3 days before departure.
End of excursion: Sunday, November 1st, at 5:00 PM in Mazzarino (CL)

Difficulty: moderate.
Routes: loop trail.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, raincoat, small backpack, hiking boots, sweater, cap, windbreaker, 1.5 liters of water, and personal toiletries.
