Mineo – Grammichele

Today, we will discover places that are far apart geographically but united by history, traditions, and nature. Our route today will be a continuous layering of hilly landscapes, forests, clay zones, and volcanic basalts. Starting from Mineo, a splendid city in the province of Catania, after a delightful urban walk to immerse ourselves in the town's history, we will head out into the countryside to join a typical 'trazzera' (ancient rural path) of the Iblei landscape. Passing beneath Monte Calvario, we will head towards the Bosco di Marineo. This area is characterized by the presence of majestic eucalyptus trees, which give the place the feeling of a soft green cushion. After our lunch break, having enjoyed a pleasant hike through the undergrowth, our final destination will be Grammichele. This place will be the perfect spot to wrap up a wonderful day. Finally, after enjoying the scenery, we will cross a short urban stretch that will lead us to discover the town's unique hexagonal center.
