Ferragosto in the Water - Pantalica and Laghetti d'Avola (SR)

Ferragosto is meant for good company and fun. This won't be just any Ferragosto; we’re skipping the stress and the crowds to celebrate by getting WET!!
These days include two hikes where we’ll be walking through rivers and swimming whenever we feel like it, plus a Ferragosto evening featuring a traditional Sicilian show. The experience at this time of year is truly unique and captivates everyone. These two Sicilian valleys are cherished for their undeniable charm and natural beauty, for the magnificent interplay of water and rock, and for their historical and archaeological significance, evidenced by ancient Sicel and Byzantine settlements and the necropolis. On Saturday, we’ll be at Pantalica and the Torrente Calcinara, and on Sunday at Cavagrande del Cassibile.

Fee: € 40.00 – Includes guide service, RCT insurance, and excursion organization.
Other expenses: € 140.00. The costs include: half-board service at an Agriturismo, a Sicilian evening with folk songs, and packed lunches for Saturday and Sunday.
Costs do not include: round-trip travel expenses to reach the meeting point and end of the trip, and any extra expenses not specified.
Deposit: € 50.00 upon registration.
Balance: € 130.00 - Do not send this; please bring it with you and pay on-site.

Lunch: Packed lunch
Route: Approximately 5 hours of walking each day (including swimming breaks); the trail passes through rugged areas with brambles and riverbeds.
Highlights: Sicilian evening, nature, history, archaeology, and local gastronomy.
Travel: Use of your own car
Difficulty: Moderate.
Booking deadline: August 03, 2020, provided there are still spots available.
Required gear: Trekking clothes, backpack, hiking boots, hat, closed-toe water shoes, a wetsuit for those sensitive to cold water, swimsuit, 1.5 liters of water.
N.B. Upon registering for the excursion, we will send you an email with two attachments: one containing the program and the other detailing the safety regulations to be followed during the excursion due to Covid-19.
