Trekking and Flavours of Chiaramonte

The perfect day to share with fellow hikers and family along a pleasant route suitable for everyone. An excursion in the territory of Chiaramonte Gulfi amidst enchanting landscapes and views, old royal paths and mule tracks that once served as transit routes from the heights of the Iblei (approx. 900 meters) to the plains below. During the walk, we may encounter porcupines, wild rabbits, weasels, hedgehogs, and foxes in the woods. Among the birds, we might spot jays, blackbirds, kestrels, magpies, and partridges. Along our route, we have planned a lunch break where we will taste typical products of Chiaramonte prepared by a local masseria (farmhouse). We will conclude our walk under the majestic, centuries-old Roverella (downy oak) tree near Contrada Muti.

Fee: € 25,00, includes guide service, RCT insurance, lunch with local products and drinks.
Not included: fuel costs for travel.
Meeting point: 09:00 AM at the square in front of the old Hotel La Pineta – Chiesa Madonna delle Grazie (Chiaramonte Gulfi).
End of excursion: 05:00 PM at Contrada Muti.
Travel: own car.
Difficulty: moderate.
Route: approx. 6 hours of walking including lunch – Forest track, mule track, marked and unmarked paths.
Booking: by Thursday, March 14.
Required equipment: winter trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, 1.5 liters of water.
