Carrubella Trail - Cavagrande del Cassibile

Summer trekking is all about river walks. Today, we have chosen one of the most beautiful Iblei canyons: Cavagrande del Cassibile. The season is perfect for water trekking along the river of the same name.
Cavagrande is a must-visit: an unspoiled canyon, natural beauty, and history and traditions that have remained unchanged for centuries. This river, which has been navigable since ancient times, preserves the traces of human presence and nature's adaptation. The wonderful and spectacular pools formed along the riverbed allow us to hike upstream through the water, crossing these natural basins. We will fully enjoy this typical Iblei canyon, immersing ourselves in it, body and soul….

Fee: € 15.00 - Includes guide service, liability insurance (RCT), and organization.
The fee does not include: travel to and from the meeting point.
Meeting point: Sunday 04/08/2019 at 09:15 AM along the S.S. 287 Palazzolo Acreide/Siracusa road, at the Esso gas station, coming from Palazzolo before the entrance to the La Trota restaurant.
End of excursion: Sunday 04/08/2019 at 05:00 PM in Palazzolo Acreide (SR).

Lunch: packed lunch
Loop trail: approximately 6 hours of walking (including swimming breaks), 250m elevation gain. The trail includes rugged areas with brambles and the riverbed.
Travel: own vehicle.
Difficulty: medium.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, backpack, hiking boots, sun hat, closed-toe water shoes, swimsuit, 1.5 liters of water.
