Mineo - Grammichele

Today we will discover places that are distant from one another yet united by history, traditions, and nature. The route of today's hike will be a continuous overlapping of hilly landscapes, forests, clay areas, and volcanic basalts. Starting from Mineo, a splendid city in the province of Catania, after a delightful urban walk through which we will immerse ourselves in the town's history, we will head out of town to join a typical trazzera (ancient rural path) of the Iblei countryside. Passing under Monte Calvario, we will head towards the Bosco di Marineo. This area is characterized by the presence of majestic eucalyptus trees, which give this place the feeling of a soft green cushion. After our lunch break, having enjoyed a pleasant hike through the undergrowth, our final destination will be Grammichele.
This place will be the perfect spot to conclude a wonderful day. Finally, after enjoying the scenery, we will cross a short urban stretch that will lead us to discover the hexagonal town center.

End of excursion: Sunday (Day trip) at 04:30 PM.
