The Gentle Iblei Hills, Monterosso Almo - Palazzolo A.

In our ongoing wanderings through our beloved Iblei land, we decided to design and structure a trail and a journey from Monterosso to Ibla. “The gentle Iblei hills: an itinerant journey” is the perfect trek to undertake during the spring months. For the habitual hiker, “knowledge” leads to both inner and outer growth: these places are here to help us in this constant development. On this journey, we will encounter history, culture, traditions, nature, crafts, and wisdom… but above all, we will “live” the path. Living the journey & sharing the passion.
1st Stage: Monterosso Almo – Palazzolo Acreide.
“The beginning” always has its own charm: enthusiasm, liveliness, and the territory will be constant ingredients of today's walk. We will set off just outside the village, heading south-east to quickly immerse ourselves in the green hills. We will cross a historic site: the archaeological area of Casmene. We will attempt to follow the route that historically connected this magnificent place, Kasmene, to Akrai (today Palazzolo Acreide). This stretch has been the subject of a thousand discoveries; in fact, the archaeologist Paolo Orsi brought fantastic stories to light here in the early 1900s. After a break for refreshments, we will head towards our destination for the day: Palazzolo. The scenic final stretch we will cover will be a place for reflection and a farewell until the next stage.

Fee: € 10,00 - Includes guide service, RCT insurance, and organization.
The fee does not include: travel to and from the meeting point.

End of excursion: Sunday 31/03/2019 at 5:00 PM – Palazzolo Acreide.

Required equipment: trekking clothing suitable for the season, rain jacket, small backpack, hiking boots, windbreaker, gloves, 1.5 liters of water.
