Etna - Chestnuts at Magazzeni

Autumn has arrived, bringing with it its signature bounty. By choosing the Etna for this excursion, we will enjoy an autumn hike where the selection of chestnut groves and a shared passion for nature combine to bring a sense of profound inner peace. For this chestnut-harvesting occasion, we will be welcomed by the “Le Delizie dell’Etna” farm, run by Jessica Tomarchio. It is a wonderful family-run business where they still cultivate the land with passion and love, resulting in a product of exceptional quality. The hike will start at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters, continuing in a loop that reaches about 1,300 meters. We will experience nature by crossing corners of unique beauty that can only be fully appreciated through this type of excursion. By including a visit to the chestnut groves within the farm, we will complete a loop hike of about 12 km on the North-East slope.

Fee: € 20.00 - Includes guide service, use of the facility for lunch, tasting of sweets and chestnuts, RCT insurance, and organization.
Not included: travel to and from the meeting point.
Meeting point: Sunday 03/11/2019 – 1) Meeting at 07:00 AM at Bar/Lukoil gas station, C/da Coffa, Chiaramonte Gulfi. 2) Meeting at 09:00 AM in Milo - Via Etnea, in front of the church of Sant'Andrea.
End of excursion: Sunday 03/11/2019 at 5:00 PM at the same starting location.

Loop trail: approximately 5 hours of walking. Forest track, mule track, marked and unmarked trails.
