Sicani Trekking

November 23rd to 25th, 2018 – SICANI TREKKING
Our Sicani trekking experience begins on Friday with a visit to the Scala dei Turchi.
On Saturday and Sunday, we will continue our journey exploring the Parco dei Sicani. We will wrap up on Sunday with a visit and tasting at the Cantina Di Giovanna, followed by an afternoon visit to Palazzo Adriano.
“I SICANI” is the fifth protected natural area in Sicilia, established as a Regional Park on December 19th, 2014. The historical, cultural, and gastronomic heritage of the Parco dei Monti Sicani is remarkable, encompassing twelve municipalities whose biodiversity represents a true treasure that can be enhanced by integrating the unique features of each. The Park's mission is to create synergy among them to foster sustainable development in the region, revitalizing both agriculture and tourism. We will be staying for two nights near Burgio, at an agriturismo located within the Parco dei Monti Sicani.

Fee: € 50.00 - Includes guide service, RCT insurance, and organization.
Other expenses: € 125.00 – Includes: overnight stays at a local estate in double and triple rooms, dinners, breakfasts, packed lunches for Saturday, and wine tasting on Sunday.
Costs do not include: round-trip travel expenses to the meeting point, packed lunch for Friday, and any unspecified extra expenses.
Deposit: € 50.00 upon registration.
Meeting point: Friday, November 23rd at 07:15 AM at Bar Bruscè, Esso gas station parking lot. At 07:45 AM at the SS 514 Lukoil gas station in Contrada Coffa. Alternatively, at 10:00 AM at Bar Agorà, Villaggio Mosè, Agrigento.
End of excursion: Sunday at 4:30 PM in Palazzo Adriano.
Lunch: packed.
Loop trails: forest track, marked path.
Difficulty: moderate.
Required equipment: winter trekking clothing, rain poncho, small backpack, hiking boots, trekking poles, flashlight, hat, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water.
