Immacolata Trekking in the Monti Erei and Floristella-Grottacalda Mine

For the 2018 Immacolata holiday, we will take you to explore and experience the Monti Erei with a trek on Monte Altesina, in the heart of Sicily—a land rich in nature and history that remains largely "off the beaten path." On Sunday, we will enjoy a guided tour of the Floristella – Grottacalda Mining Park, an open-air museum of industrial archaeology.
You will get to know some wonderful local initiatives run by young people who believe in and invest in their territory, showcasing its nature and local flavors. Our partners for this weekend are the team at Officina Agro Culturale Cafeci, who are collaborating on this event.

Fee: € 30,00 - Includes: guide services, RCT insurance, and organization)
Other expenses: € 50,00 - Expenses include: overnight stay in a rural guesthouse (double and triple rooms), Saturday dinner, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday packed lunch.
Expenses do not include: fuel costs for travel and Saturday's packed lunch.
Deposit: € 25,00 upon registration.
Meeting point: Saturday, December 08 at 08:45 AM at the Sacchitello Nord service area, A19 Catania/Palermo motorway (direction Palermo). For those coming from Palermo, 09:00 AM at the Enna motorway exit, 1 km further ahead at the intersection with SS 117bis.
End of excursion: Sunday, December 09 at 04:00 PM at the Floristella Mine.

Required equipment: trekking clothing, hiking boots, winter jacket, rain poncho, fleece, wool hat, gloves, flashlight, 1.5 liters of water, a spare t-shirt, and personal toiletries.
Notes: the excursion may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural events; in such cases, an alternative route will be taken if possible.
