Sea & Mountains - 3rd Stage Modica - Ragusa (Final stage)

Starting from the Church of San Giorgio in Modica, we will cross the upper part of the town, exiting via the municipal road Loreto Gallinara to pick up the ancient royal 'trazzera' (drover's road) that will lead us along the valley where the Irminio river flows, all the way to Ragusa Ibla. A fascinating landscape for the final leg of this Iblei journey, arriving in what was still the County of Ragusa in Norman times, by concession of the Great Count Ruggero d’Hauteville. We will enter Ragusa Ibla through Porta Modica, passing by the portal of San Giorgio; from there, we will cross the entire Ibla district to reach Piazza di San Giovanni, where we will conclude our Sea & Mountains itinerary.

Fee: € 10,00 - Includes guide service, organization, and RCT insurance.
Expenses not included: packed lunch and travel fuel costs.
Meeting point: Sunday 06/05/2018 at 09:00 AM in front of the entrance to the Church of San Giorgio, Modica Alta.
End of excursion: 05:00 PM, Ragusa Ibla.
Travel: own car.
Route: 6 hours of walking – Forest track, mule track, marked trail, and fords.
Difficulty: medium.
Lunch: packed.
Equipment: required: trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, sweater, 1.5 liters of water.
