The Ciaowalk concept embodies the spirit that defines our initiatives. Ciaotrekking and walking are synonymous with: hiking, professionalism, passion, friendship, and sport.
The “Sentieri natura” (Nature Trails) project follows the four seasons, using nature and its paths as a common thread. The idea is developed through seven themed stages: Oranges, Wild Herbs, Cherries, Wine, Pistachios, Olive Oil, and Chestnuts. These are all products intrinsic to our Mediterranean basin, which play a leading role in our land. We will have the opportunity to savor and enjoy nature, trails, fruits, products, and traditions. Passion, walking, and nature will make this journey magical.
January 21, 2018 – ORANGE TRAIL
Pino d’Aleppo Reserve – Valle dell’Ippari. A loop trail featuring a fruit typical of this and the coming seasons as its common thread: the orange will be our first. Our steps will take us through a fantastic area, the Pino d’Aleppo Reserve, located in the Val d’Ippari in Vittoria. A wonderful place where humanity has been able to diligently transform and enhance the territory's resources. The starting point will be from contrada Buffa, near the houses that take their name from the same district. We will walk along a downhill stretch and cross a citrus grove where we can taste delicious oranges, the fruit of our themed day. The walk will wind through a large part of the reserve, which covers 3,000 hectares in the final part of the Vittoria valley. Trails and trazzere (ancient mule tracks) will accompany us to the highest point of today's walk, Poggio Musenna. As we pass, we will be pampered by the typical scents of wild plants: thyme, rosemary, juniper, and oregano. After the break, the return route will be characterized by an initial historical section passing through the “Buffarella” houses, followed by the fruit that is the cornerstone of our nature trail, where scents and flavors will be our farewell.

Fee: € 10,00 - Includes guide service, organization, and RCT insurance.
Expenses not included: packed lunch and fuel costs for travel.
Meeting point: Sunday 21/01/2018 at 09:00 AM at Fontana della pace – Vittoria.
End of excursion: 04:30 PM at the same starting point.
Travel: own car.
Route: 5 hours of walking – Trazzere, trails, and forest tracks.
Difficulty: moderate.
Lunch: packed.
Equipment: required: trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, sweater, 1.5 liters of water.
Path: Forest track, mule track, royal trazzera, marked and unmarked trails.
