Casasia Under the Stars.... (Monterosso Almo)

With the summer season just around the corner, we invite you to join us for a two-day full immersion of hiking, nature, and fun. We will be hosted in a mountain hut within the provincial forest park of Ragusa in C.da Passione, made available by the municipality of Monterosso Almo, where we will share this fantastic experience together. Our journey will start from the hut, heading toward two destinations of significant historical and natural interest: Casa Canalazzo and Monte Casasia. On the first day, after our morning meeting, we will head to the starting point for a varied walk through hilly paths and forest tracks, arriving at Case Canalazzo. This is a place of great historical and economic importance for the local community and beyond. We will visit an old mill and walk alongside a small natural spring that will lead us to the Case Canalazzo picnic area. The evening will be a convivial moment at the hut, sharing dinner surrounded by the magic of the landscape. After waking up and having breakfast, our second day will begin directly from the hut as we head to visit Monte Casasia. At 730 meters high, it will be our natural balcony, where we can look out and admire the entire Gela plain and the nearby Erei mountains. A place of a thousand discoveries, it has served as an outpost for territorial control since the earliest civilizations in Sicilia up to the present day. Here, nature retains its charm, typical of the gentle and rolling Iblei countryside. We will observe up close the traces of human presence dating back to the early Iron Age. We will conclude the day by returning to the hut along a green forest track that, fortunately, remained untouched by last summer's fires.

Fee: € 50.00. Includes guide service, RCT insurance, and organization.
Included in the fee:

• Dinner and overnight stay on Saturday at the hut;
• Breakfast at the hut and packed lunch for Sunday.

The fee does not include: packed lunch for Saturday and travel fuel costs.

End of excursion: Sunday, June 03, 2018 at 05:00 PM at the same location.

Difficulty: Medium/Challenging.
Lunch: Packed lunch for Saturday, 02/06/2018.
Daily walking hours: 5 to 6 hours.
Highlights: a shared experience in a mountain hut, a weekend fully immersed in nature.
Duration: 2 days / 1 night in the hut.
Required equipment: hiking clothing, backpack, hiking boots, hat, waterproof jacket, sweater, sleeping bag or similar for the night in the hut, 1.5 liters of water, and personal toiletries.
Booking by: May 30, 2018, provided there are still spots available. Possibility to participate in individual daily activities.
Notes: the excursion may be subject to changes due to unpredictable natural events; in such cases, the guide will make the final decision.
