Ottombrando on Etna - Monte Zoccolaro

South/East side of Etna, Contrada Cassaro, where we begin our walk along the Nature Trail that leads us up to Monte Zoccolaro, at an altitude of 1730 m. Before us lies a breathtaking panorama, including the immense Valle del Bove and, higher up, the Summit Craters. From here, we will walk a stretch of the Schiena dell’Asino trail before descending through forests of beech, chestnut, and broom, along with apple and pear orchards, eventually picking up a track to return to our starting point.

Fee: € 15.00 - Includes guide service, RCT insurance, and organization.
Costs do not include: round-trip travel expenses to reach the meeting point.
Meeting point: Sunday, October 29 at 09:30 AM in Zafferana Etnea, at the parking lot in front of the Villa Comunale entrance.
End of excursion: 5:30 PM at the same location.
Lunch: packed lunch.
Loop trail: walking time: approx. 5 hours, on both marked and unmarked paths.
Elevation gain/loss: approx. 250 m ascent, 250 m descent.
Difficulty: moderate
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, hiking boots, hat, sweater, waterproof jacket, and 1.5 liters of water (2 liters for those who drink more).
