The "Wonders of Cava Volpe" (RG)

Deep within the forest of Cava Volpe lie the wonders of a bygone era—places where human hands once sought to leave their mark, yet where the primitive dwellings of the Iblei remain unchanged and magical to this day. Our walk today will take us through the hypogea (underground chambers) found within this canyon, which remain truly one-of-a-kind due to their unique features. We will follow a loop trail through this lush canyon, filled with the scents and colors that only spring can bestow upon our Ragusani canyons. This remains one of the most rugged areas, where nature has managed to preserve and cradle its pristine beauty.

Fee: € 10.00, includes guide service, RCT insurance, and organization.
Not included: packed lunch and fuel costs for the journey.
Meeting point: Sunday at 9:00 AM at the Campo Boario on the Ragusa-Chiaramonte road.
End of excursion: 5:00 PM at the same starting point.
Travel: own car.

Loop trail: 6 hours of walking – paths, mule tracks, historic royal trails (regie trazzere), and forest roads.
Required equipment: trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, sweater, 1.5 liters of water.
