Wandering the Iblei - Stage 2 - Monterosso A. - Licodia Eubea

Our adventure continues.......
"The idea of a journey connecting these mountain villages of the Iblei was born from the realization that, while they may seem far apart, they are deeply connected by history, culture, traditions, and folklore......."
The second stage of this wonderful journey will lead us from Monterosso Almo down into the Iblei countryside, characterized by clay soils and limestone rocks, all the way to Licodia Eubea. The history of these lands invites us to discover paths marked by the slow movement of people and their weary footsteps, which have remained unchanged for centuries. Days were once defined by the labor of humans and animals: sowing, harvesting, plowing…. our journey today will conclude in Licodia Eubea, a land of conquests, castles, and neighborhoods rich in history and tradition.
For this travel experience, each participant will receive a small booklet to collect a stamp from each arrival town—a little gift to encourage you on your magical “wandering the Iblei”.
Upon arrival at each stage, we will always have a little surprise for you to enjoy all together.

Fee: € 10,00 - Includes guide service, organization, and RCT insurance.
Meeting point: Sunday at 09:00, Piazza Sant'Antonio, Monterosso Almo.
End of excursion: 16:30, Licodia Eubea.
Stage details: walking time: 5.5 hours - elevation gain 290 m, elevation loss 380 m.
Difficulty: moderate, approx. 14 km
Lunch: packed
Equipment: required: trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way (rain jacket), hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, sweater, 1.5 liters of water.
Route: Forest track, mule track, royal sheep track (regia trazzera), marked and unmarked trails.
