Ancient Flavors on the Arcibesse - Chiaramonte Gulfi

Description: An excursion in the territory of Chiaramonte Gulfi, amidst enchanting landscapes and panoramas, old royal paths and mule tracks that once served as transit routes from the heights of the Iblei (approx. 900 meters) to the plains below. During our walks through the woods, we may encounter porcupines, hares, wild rabbits, weasels, and foxes. Among the birds, we might spot jays, blackbirds, kestrels, magpies, and partridges.
Along the way, we will stop at the Grotta di Cava Porcaro, where we will have the chance to observe an ancient water spring. Furthermore, we will have the opportunity to see the typical Iblean neviere (historic ice houses) up close along our path.
The day will be brightened by lunch in the equipped area, featuring local products (ricotta, focacce, pane cunzatu - seasoned bread), and we will also enjoy some new wine accompanied by sweet delights.

Fee: € 15.00 - Includes guide services, insurance, and lunch with typical Iblean products.
Not included: Fuel costs for travel.
Meeting point: 09:00 AM at the Chiesa di Santa Lucia, Chiaramonte Gulfi – Directions: for those coming from Ragusa, after the cemetery, head down the bypass towards Comiso. After about 400 meters, in front of the “A’ Funtana” Pizzeria/Restaurant, turn right; after 500 meters, you will arrive at the church. For those coming from Comiso, head up to the left from the bypass.
End of excursion: 16:30 at the same location.

Required equipment: Trekking clothing, small backpack, k-way, hiking boots, waterproof jacket, hat, 1.5 liters of water.
